Responsibilities

• Assist the Nurse Director II and Assistant Director of Nursing in assuring compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, ICF/IID standards, OSHA regulations and department policies.
• Develop policies and standards to assure delivery of safe, competent nursing care to approximately 200 individuals with intellectual disabilities and varying medical needs.
• Establish new or revised clinical policies and procedures based on evidenced-based recommendations and current clinical trends.
• Provide direct observation of clinical services and participate in data collection and quality improvement initiatives.

Description of Work

• assist the Nurse Director II and Assistant Director of Nursing in assuring compliance with the Nursing Practice Act, ICF/IID standards, OSHA regulations and mandated Department of Health and Human Services policies, the development of educational materials and training curriculums and instructional sessions;
• develop policies and standards to assure delivery of safe, competent nursing care to approximately 200 individuals who have intellectual disabilities and varying acute/chronic medical disorders;
• establish new/revised clinical policies and procedures based on evidenced based recommendations, changing technology and acute medical needs of individuals;
• provide direct observation of clinical services;
• assist the Nurse Director II and Nurse Supervisor III in data collection and monitoring quality improvement initiatives and the implementation of policies and procedure.

Salary and Sign-on Bonus

Salary Range: $62,044.00 - $102,371.00

A Sign-on bonus of $10,000 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on the 2025-2026 Budget Approval.

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus

• To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible.
• Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.
• An employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date).
• The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
• All Sign-on Bonuses are contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.
