Job summary

Volunteers of America Mid-States is hiring a Positive Behavior Support Technician to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting in New Albany, Indiana. This hands-on role involves teaching daily living skills, following behavior plans, and ensuring a safe, respectful home environment.

You will provide active supervision, assist with personal care, manage documentation, and transport individuals using agency vehicles when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred, but not required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to transport individuals in agency vehicle.
• Experience with IDD or behavioral support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support to adults with IDD in home and community.
• Follow Individual Support Plans and Behavior Support Plans.
• Use positive behavior support strategies to prevent crisis and teach replacement skills.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Transport individuals to appointments and community activities.
• Complete daily documentation and incident reports.
• Communicate any concerns to supervisor and care team.
