Job summary

Volunteers of America Mid-States in Walton, KY is seeking a dedicated staff member to provide training, assistance and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities and behavioral challenges. The role requires delivering positive behavior supports, implementing plans, transporting clients, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to promote independence and community participation.

A high school diploma or GED is required; valid driver’s license and willingness to flex schedule

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• Experience with developmental disabilities and behavioral needs.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance; reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Participate in development and implementation of individual plans.
• Facilitate Behavior Support Plan and IST; teach replacement skills and reduce problematic behaviors.
• Respond to emergencies per training; maintain safety and supportive environment.
• Provide transportation to daily activities using VOA vehicles.
• Mentor and coach individuals supported, encouraging independence and community involvement.
• Document daily notes, charts, behavior data, and other required records.
