CARC, Inc. invites applicants for a Life Enhancement Instructor role in our IDD Day Habilitation program in Carlsbad, NM. The position focuses on care giving, personal growth, independence, and social interaction for individuals with IDD.

The role requires flexibility to work weekends and holidays, along with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. We value commitment to client well-being and community integration.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old with a good driving record.
• Ability to pass New Mexico Department of Health background checks.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of the needs and abilities of individuals with IDD.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with individuals with varying cognitive abilities.
• Ability to assess strengths and adapt programs accordingly.
• Maintain accurate documentation of participation and progress.
• Assist in activities including art, music, and recreational outings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with care giving and activities that promote growth, independence, and social interaction.
• Lead and participate in age- and ability-appropriate activities.
• Foster personal growth and community participation for individuals with IDD.
• Maintain records of participation and progress and report findings to supervisors.
