Second-Family,-Inc in Bowie, MD is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide clinical nursing care and health oversight for individuals with IDD living in a state-funded group home. The RN will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure person-centered care and optimal health outcomes.

Responsibilities include health assessments, care plan development, medication administration oversight, wound and catheter care, and emergency response.

Formación

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current, active RN license in Maryland.
• Certification in developmental disabilities nursing (C-DDN) or other relevant certifications preferred.
• 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in a group home, long-term care, or IDD setting.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct initial and ongoing health assessments for residents, including vital signs and chronic conditions.
• Develop, implement, and update individualized care plans for each resident.
• Oversee medication administration processes, including review of orders and monitoring for adverse effects.
• Provide nursing interventions such as wound care, catheter care, G-tube care as prescribed.
• Assess health status and coordinate medical care with primary care physicians and specialists.
• Respond to medical emergencies, perform triage, and coordinate care with emergency services.
• Educate residents, families, and staff on health-related topics.
• Serve as a health advocate and liaison between residents and healthcare providers.
• Train and supervise direct care staff in health-related areas.
• Maintain up-to-date medical records and ensure compliance with Maryland regulations.
