Job summary

Heartshare Human Services Of New York is seeking an Employment Specialist to provide individualized employment supports and job development for adults with IDD through Heartshare’s Supported Employment Services program. You will help individuals obtain and advance competitive, integrated employment with job coaching, resume assistance, and employer outreach.

The role involves traveling up to 50% across Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Staten Island, along with workplace training, documentation,

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or Equivalent required or preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience supporting individuals with IDD preferred.
• Knowledge of supported employment principles and person-centered planning preferred.
• CPR/First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify employment interests and goals through person-centered planning.
• Develop and maintain relationships with employers and workforce partners.
• Provide job coaching and workplace training.
• Assist with resumes, applications, and interview preparation.
• Educate employers on accommodations and workplace supports.
• Provide ongoing follow-up and retention support after placement.
• Travel to Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Staten Island as needed.
