Job summary

Brooklyn Community Services in New York seeks an Employment Specialist to help individuals with disabilities obtain internships and paid competitive employment in the community.

You will provide post-employment coaching and build strong employer relationships, facilitating communication about duties, safety, and productivity. This role includes full-cycle career services and coordination with ACCES-VR and OPWDD participants, with some evening/weekend hours and NYC travel.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required with 1 year experience in services to individuals with disabilities.
• Bachelor's degree preferred with some experience in similar roles.
• Ability to interface with staff across programs and community agencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with disabilities find and retain internships and paid competitive employment.
• Provide post-employment job coaching at the work site.
• Develop positive working relationships with employers and clarify job duties and safety information.
• Provide full-cycle career services to ACCES-VR and OPWDD participants.
• Submit required documentation and reports in a timely manner.
