Job summary

Leidos's Air and Space Force Division has an opening for a Chief Engineer supporting the AF IDCS program. The selected candidate will report to the Defensive Cyber Portfolio Director and oversee technical planning, system design, development and integration.

The role requires extensive systems engineering experience, leadership across cross-functional teams, and strong communication with Government stakeholders to ensure program success and DoD compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of total engineering experience with 5+ years in a technical leadership role.
• 7+ years hands-on experience in at least two cyber disciplines.
• Solid understanding of SDLC models, Agile and DevSecOps.
• Compliance with DoD 8140 certification (e.g., CISSP-ISSAP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering oversight for the IDCS program throughout the capability delivery lifecycle.
• Develop technical and programmatic schedules; evaluate design alternatives; support subcontractor selection.
• Perform systems requirements analysis, architecture, integration, testing, and QA.
• Oversee system planning and ensure compatibility with Government Reference Architecture.
• Mentor mid-level and junior staff; communicate with Government officials on technical matters.
