Job summary

HDR is seeking an Idaho Transportation Business Development Leader to drive top-line bookings and growth across HDR’s transportation practice in Idaho. You will build strong client relationships, lead strategic plans, and coordinate with key teams to pursue high-value contracts.

You will identify growth opportunities, manage budgets, and mentor staff while representing HDR with clients and partners across the region.

Qualifications

• 15 years of relevant industry experience.
• Self-starter with a history of completing projects with limited oversight.
• Deep knowledge of A/E/C industry's procurement of professional services.
• Ability to motivate and inspire others.
• Ability to build a network of clients and industry partners.
• Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies.
• Strong financial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability and desire to travel and engage in-person.
• Experience in writing compelling content from technical staff.
• Experience growing programs in competitive markets.
• Experience winning high-value contracts in A/E/C.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify leads to achieve annual sales goals.
• Achieve area sales goals.
• Manage area business development and marketing budgets.
• Manage client relationships and financial reporting dashboards.
• Understand market trends and drivers impacting clients.
• Develop annual and long-term strategic plans and growth initiatives.
• Implement growth initiatives in strategic plans.
• Serve as Client Manager for assigned accounts and maintain relationships.
• Develop client plans and long-term market share strategies.
• Develop business relationships with teaming partners.
• Lead go/no-go decisions per HDR’s Matrix of Authority.
• Lead pursuit teams in creating win strategies (capture planning).
• Engage project management and technical talent in pursuit teams.
• Participate in pursuit teams to develop proposal/interview materials.
• Participate in quality reviews of proposal/interview materials.
• Coach interview teams for effective messaging during interviews.
• Debriefs to identify improvements and measure competitiveness.
• Direct content marketing campaigns to strengthen HDR’s brand and visibility.
