Job summary

Pittsburgh Mercy is seeking an ID Floater in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities department. In this role you will provide compassionate, individualized care to residents in our residential facilities, supporting well-being and daily living.

The position offers an evening shift, non-exempt status, and a benefits package starting on day one. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop care plans, assist with daily activities, and advocate for residents as they

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma/equivalence with 1 year paid social services experience.
Valid driver license and ability to drive organization vehicle.
Access to local transportation travel.
Act 33/34/73 clearances.
Pre-Employment Drug Screen, Physical/TB.
Must pass Department of Public Welfare Medication Training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessments with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Provide hands-on assistance with daily activities including personal care, meals, medication management, and recreation.
Offer empathetic support for emotional or behavioral challenges and use de‑escalation techniques.
Facilitate community engagement and social/recreational activities inside and outside the facility.
Advocate for residents and collaborate with external agencies and healthcare professionals.
