Job summary

Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ is seeking a Primary Care Veterinary Technician for the Shelter & Community Medicine team. You will support animal care across mobile and pop-up clinics, surgery labs, and community services, reporting to the Manager of Companion Animal Clinic.

The role involves working flexible hours, possible early mornings, evenings, and weekends, and advancing through Level I–III with increasing autonomy in anesthesia, surgery, and student instruction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CVT preferred; 1–2 years of clinical experience in high-volume shelter settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments and procedures.
• Set up surgical and treatment areas for procedures.
• Administer medications and assist with vaccinations and treatments.
• Perform surgical preparation and assist in procedures as needed.
• Venipuncture, catheter placement and other technical duties.
