Job summary

Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ, seeks a Specialty Care Veterinary Technician, Emergency (Evening Shift) to join the College of Veterinary Medicine. You will support advanced patient care in a teaching hospital, working with students and veterinarians during evening hours (4:00pm – 12:30am).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CVT preferred; progression with experience in specialty services.
• 1–2 years of clinical experience in general practice or emergency setting for Level I.
• Minimum 2–4 years for Level II; 5+ years for Level III.

Responsibilities

• Assist students and veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments, and emergencies.
• Perform advanced nursing care, catheter placement, monitoring, and anesthesia for high-risk patients.
• Monitor critically ill patients and respond to changes in status.
• Maintain detailed medical records and coordinate care between services and referring veterinarians.
• Mentor veterinary students and assist in student instruction.
