Job summary

MSU - Michigan State University’s Veterinary Medical Center seeks an ICU Veterinary Nurse I to provide patient care for ill and injured small animals. You will support the Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care unit, assist veterinarians and students, and help maintain supplies and cleanliness of hospital areas.

Training in emergency triage, stabilization, and critical nursing will be provided as you work with board-certified specialists.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician in Michigan or able to obtain certification within one year.
• Experience in patient care, surgery, anesthesia, and sterilization.
• Experience with spreadsheet and word processing software.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care for ill and injured small animals in ICU.
• Support Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care unit.
• Instruct and demonstrate techniques to students and assist veterinarians and technicians.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and cleanliness of hospital areas.
• Assist with emergency procedures and triage.
