Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position at a hospital with a Medical ICU and Surgical Trauma ICU requiring ACLS and BLS certification.

The role features a 3x12 night schedule (18:45–07:15), 36 hours per week, and a 13-week assignment with potential to float to acute care or ED based on staffing needs. Nursing leadership and Cerner Powerchart EMR are used to coordinate patient care.

Qualifications

• Active TX or compact RN license
• BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA accepted)
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience
• Diploma from an accredited school of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire
• Knowledge of CRRT, CABG, Trauma (TCAR/TNCC), and Impella preferred
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care including implementing and monitoring patient care plans
• Serves as primary coordinator across disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
• Assesses and coordinates discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
• Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
