Trinity Health Michigan Chelsea Hospital in Chelsea, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse for the SWAT Team & ICU to lead routines, mentor staff, and promote evidence-based care across units. The role emphasizes patient safety, ANA standards, and Just Culture, with emphasis on rapid response in critical situations.

The RN will support both SWAT and ICU responsibilities, participate in care coordination, and foster interdepartmental collaboration within a 24-hour shift model.

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited nursing program and Michigan RN license.
• BSN degree required within five years of hire or transfer to an RN role.
• Minimum of three years acute care experience; ICU/ED preferred.
• Current BLS & ACLS
• Canadian Nurses encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Leads, facilitates, and addresses day-to-day operational issues and communications between nursing and other departments.
• Coordinates response to urgent situations with multidisciplinary team members.
• Participates as a Code Blue Team coordinator when needed.
• Collaborates across ER, critical care physicians, and units for stroke care.
• Monitors patient transport planning and handoffs between units.
• Proactively rounds on inpatient units focusing on high‑risk patients.
• Assists with imaging procedures requiring an RN when others are unavailable.
• Mentors new staff and coaches colleagues to advocate for patients.
• Addresses family requests for case reviews and promotes remarkable care.

Education

BSN degree within 5 years

Michigan RN license

BLS & ACLS certified
