Job summary

Mercy Health in Ohio seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager for St. Rita’s Medical Center ICU Stepdown to supervise clinical teams and coordinate administrative operations.

The role blends frontline patient care with leadership duties to support safe, high-quality outcomes. The position requires an RN license and BSN preference, with a focus on collaboration, change management, and staff development across shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (strongly preferred).
• 2 years nursing experience with 1 year minimum clinical experience in acuity level of desired area (preferred).
• Charge nurse or management experience (preferred).
• RN license in state they are working or compact (required).
• Certifications required based on units overseen (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of nurses and clinical support.
• Supports managers/directors on larger units.
• Performs limited managerial responsibilities and grounds support for frontline staff and assists in direct patient care as needed.
• Assists with planning and supervision of unit/department goals and objectives.
• Assists with planning and maintaining department readiness for regulatory surveyors.
• Serves as professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource.
• Promotes core culture and safety behaviors to eliminate preventable harm.
