Job summary

CHI St. Vincent in Little Rock is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Stepdown Unit to guide patients from intensive care toward home health and independence.

You will deliver direct patient care, administer medications, monitor vitals, and collaborate with doctors, families, and the care team. This role requires an Arkansas RN license, 12 months of acute care, and BLS/ACLS within set timelines; ICU/step-down experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Arkansas RN license (or compact state) required.
• 12 months acute care experience required.
• Step-down/ICU experience preferred.
• BLS within 30 days.
• ACLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Check patients' health status daily and note changes or concerns.
• Care for multiple patients during the same shift.
• Monitor life-sustaining equipment (IVs, catheters, feeding tubes, ventilators).
• Advocate for patient comfort and safety.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Registered Nurse at CHI St. Vincent in Stepdown Unit, you will help patients transitioning from intensive care achieve optimal health and independence so they can return home safely and confidently.

Every day you will provide direct patient care, including medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and managing complex patient needs. You will be expected to collaborate effectively with physicians, other healthcare providers, and patients and their families.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills.

• Checking patients' health status daily and making note of any changes or concerns
• Caring for multiple patients throughout the same shift, often varying in age and condition
• Monitoring patients with life-saving medical equipment such as IVs, catheters, feeding tubes and ventilators
• Providing a comfortable and secure environment for the patient while acting as their advocate

Job Requirements

• Registered Nurse license in good standing, State of Arkansas or compact state license required prior to start date
• 12 months of acute care experience is required (new graduates or nurses who have never worked in an acute care setting are hired through our residency training program)
• Previous step down and/or ICU experience strongly preferred
• BLS through the American Heart Association is required within 30 days
• ACLS through the American Heart Association is required within 90 days

Pay Range

$32.28 - $43.58 /hour
