Job summary

Edward Elmhurst Health is seeking an experienced RN to join the Cardiac-Neuro ICU Transition Program for night shift at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. This program is designed for RNs transitioning into critical care with preceptor support.

The role emphasizes assessment, monitoring, and collaboration with the care team while completing 8–12 weeks of transition education and a 36-hour work week (7:00 pm–7:30 am).

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in nursing; if ADN is highest, must complete Bachelor's within five years.
• Current State of Illinois RN licensure and CPR certification (AHA/Red Cross).
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient RN experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing; ECG monitoring course; ACLS; NIH Stroke Scale certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care according to the Illinois Nursing Practice Act and hospital policies.
• Assess and monitor patients, document observations, and plan/evaluate care.
• Delegate appropriate tasks and function as a team member to achieve unit goals.

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within five years

Current State of Illinois RN licensure

CPR Certification (AHA or Red Cross)

ECG monitoring course

ACLS certification
