Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking an RN Supervisor for the Medical ICU at Jeff Hwy to oversee clinical operations during nights. The role emphasizes supervision, care coordination, and leadership for a team of nurses and technicians in a high-acuity unit.

The ideal candidate will hold a BSN (preferred for magnet facilities) and possess RN licensure in the state, with 1 year of RN experience (or 2 years as an LPN) in acute care, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN required for magnet facilities.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• 1 year of relevant RN experience or 2 years as an LPN in an acute care setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct, hands-on care for critically ill or injured patients in pre- and postoperative medical settings.
• Assesses risks and benefits of proposed medical interventions; renders life-saving treatment when needed.
• Organizes, plans, supervises, and provides coordinated patient care within the unit.
• Supervises, develops, and evaluates assigned departmental staff nurses and technicians.
• Promotes adoption of nursing protocols and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines.
• Manages conflicts on assigned shifts and collaborates with unit leadership as needed.
