The position requires BSN (or higher) and RN licensure in Louisiana, with at least 1 year of RN experience or 2 years as an LPN in acute care, and BLS certification. This leadership role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. BSN required for all Ochsner Magnet Facilities.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Required – 1 year of relevant experience as a registered nurse or 2 years as an LPN in an acute care setting.
• Required – Current RN license in state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct, hands-on care for critically ill or injured patients in pre- and postoperative settings.
• Organizes, plans, supervises, and coordinates patient care within the unit.
• Supervises and evaluates assigned staff nurses and technicians.
• Promotes evidence-based nursing practice and clinical protocols.
• Manages scheduling, staffing, and resources on the unit.
• Collaborates with leadership to ensure quality and safety across the unit.
