Job summary

Avera St Mary's Hospital in Pierre, SD is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing care, coordinate with the health care team, and educate patients and families on conditions and self-care. Rotating day/night shifts, 7a-7p and 7p-7a, with 72 hours every two weeks and every other weekend rotation, are expected.

Required RN license and 1–3 years clinical experience preferred; strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the hours specified.
• Active RN license in practicing state.
• 1–3 years experience in a clinical environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and coordinating with the health care team.
• Develops nursing care plans by obtaining histories and documenting patient condition and needs.
• Teaches healthcare requirements to patients and families; explains conditions, medications and self-care.
