Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Buda is seeking a Seasonal RN for the Night Shift (7 pm – 7 am). You will manage and evaluate patient care on a 15-bed blended unit, with 1:4/5 Med/Surg/Tele ratios and higher acuity in ICU as needed.

Requires ICU experience and flexibility to cover mixed acuity assignments (Med/Surg, Tele, or IMC). Current RN license, BLS within 30 days, and 1+ year nursing experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience.
• Minimum of one year’s experience in nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license.
• Ability to obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Use clinical judgment to conduct thorough assessments following practice standards.
• Identify patient and family needs, develop and implement nursing care plans, and make adjustments as needed.
• Create safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff.
• Manage emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent unnecessary suffering.

Shift / Status: Full-time, 3x12’s

Schedule: Night Shift (7 pm – 7 am)

Requirements: ICU experience required; willingness to take mixed acuity assignments (Med/Surg, Tele, or IMC) is essential.

Main Nursing Unit: 15‑bed blended unit with three levels of acuity.

Patient Population: Medical Surgical, Orthopedics, Intermediate Care, Critical Care

Patient Ratios: Med Surg/Tele – 1:4/5, Progressive Care/Intermediate Care – 1:3, Intensive Care – 1:2
