Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center– Grapevine is seeking a Registered Nurse for a seasonal Intensive Care Unit assignment in Grapevine, TX. The ICU team emphasizes learning, mentoring, and safety with a focus on high-acuity patients and a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.

This 13-week assignment includes orientation and day shifts (7am–7pm). You must have a current RN license, be eligible for BLS, and bring at least two years of ICU experience to the role.

Qualifications

• Degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
• Requirement: 2 years of recent ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments following practice standards and clinical judgment.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans for patients and families.
• Create a safe, therapeutic environment and manage pain to promote recovery.
• Collaborate with ICU team and physicians to ensure high-quality patient care.

Medical, Surgical, Trauma, Neuro, Cardiac

Patient Ratios:

1:2

Number of Beds:

20 beds

Department Specifics:

Level II Trauma, Primary Stroke Center, Thrombectomy Capable, 24/7 Intensivist coverage, Strong collaboration with ICU Physicians/Surgeons, Committees/Unit Based Council, Furthering Education-Nurse Practitioner, CRNA, etc. Excellent culture of teamwork, learning and safety.

Shift:

SEASONAL, 7am-7pm (13 WEEKS; 1st week is a full week of Orientation)

Requirement:

2 years of recent ICU experience

As a Seasonal RN, you align with our nursing model, manage patient care, evaluate, recognize, create, implement care plans. Monitor patient progress is also vital. Your knowledge will help patients navigate the healthcare system safely, reducing complications. You will use your expertise to understand patient needs and the healthcare environment.
