Job summary

MU Health Care in Jefferson City is seeking a registered nurse for the Intensive Care Unit. This PRN, on-site role offers a base pay of $33.75 per hour with evenings, nights, and weekend differentials and requires a minimum of 24 hours in 6 weeks.

You will assess patient status, develop care plans, administer medications safely, educate families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN.
• One year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition and nursing needs, set goals, and prescribe nursing actions to meet physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs, including discharge planning.
• Assess, intervene, and reassess the patient's pain using a 0–10 scale, FACES, or FLACC.
• Demonstrate understanding of medications, report pertinent information, and educate patients and significant others about medications.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions toward goals and outcomes.
• Maintain nursing standards and follow hospital policies and unit procedures.
• Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality/performance improvement groups; follow attendance and dress-code guidelines.
• Report observations to physicians/head nurse/charge nurse and document accurately.
• Provide quality care and work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high patient satisfaction.
• May perform unit/department duties as outlined in department documents.
