Job summary

Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson, NC, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for ICU with a PRN schedule. This role delivers direct patient care in a fast-paced ICU, applying nursing processes tailored to patient needs.

The RN will collaborate with the ICU team, ensuring safe care, documentation, and patient-family communication while upholding Lifepoint Health standards and values.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in North Carolina or a compact license.
• ASN in nursing from an accredited program.
• BLS certification required by the American Heart Association.
• PALS, ACLS and Handle with Care are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present for all employees.
