Job summary

Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the ICU on a PRN schedule. Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in North Carolina (or compact license).
• ASN from an accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• PALS, ACLS and Handle with Care are preferred.
• One year of RN hospital experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Exposure: Bloodborne pathogen exposure is present for all employees.
