Job summary

Maria Parham Health is seeking an experienced RN to join our ICU team in Henderson, NC. The ICU provides around-the-clock, high-acuity care with a focus on cardiology, pulmonology, and critical care.

You will deliver direct patient care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support families during the care journey. The ideal candidate holds an NC RN license (or compact), ASN, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of RN hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or compact license).
• ASN from an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (required).
• PALS, ACLS and Handle with Care preferred.
• One year of RN hospital experience (required).
• Active North Carolina RN license (single state) or compact; if relocating, licensure must be updated to the new PSOR before employment begins.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
