Job summary

Desert Valley Hospital, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for per diem night shifts in Southern California. Responsibilities include delivering safe patient care in the ICU, coordinating with physicians, and guiding nursing staff. Requires current RN license, BLS, ACLS, and preferred critical care experience.

Per Diem position with competitive compensation; exact starting pay determined at hire. Minimum one year in acute care preferred; CCRN/BSN encouraged.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice, including ICU duties.
• Direct patient/family teaching and oversee activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in patient condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostic results.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
