Job summary

Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, CA is seeking a Registered Nurse with ICU experience to provide total nursing care for assigned patients. The role involves telemetry, neurologic and post-operative care, patient advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration on a day shift.

You will administer medications, verify MAR, and participate in ongoing education to maintain clinical competencies. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Current CA Registered Nurse License.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certification (maintain current).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; patient/family advocacy.
• Active listening and teamwork with diverse families.
• Able to manage multiple priorities; strict safety compliance.
• Must complete EKG test within 30 days of hire; NIHSS.
• Current ICU experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients on telemetry with strip interpretation.
• Care for neurologically compromised and pre/post-op orthopedic patients.
• Caring for combative or psychologically impaired patients.
• Orientation tailored to ICU/ICU-like units; additional certifications may be required.
• Conduct interdisciplinary communications; act as a care consultant.
• Administer medications per policy (IVs, blood products).
• Verify MAR accuracy; maintain nursing competencies via in-services.
