Job summary

Medical City Plano is seeking an ICU Registered Nurse for night shift, providing high-quality, patient-centered care within a multidisciplinary team using evidence-based practices to support stroke care and recovery. The RN will document care, educate patients and families, and contribute to a culture of safety and quality outcomes.

Requirements include Associate Degree, 1 year ICU experience, and ACLS/BCLS within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 90 days of start date
• BCLS within 30 days of start date
• RN licensed
• Associate Degree
• 1 year ICU experience required

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers and documents care in the chart.
• Documents administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Teaches patients/families/caregivers about condition, status, treatment plan, medications and side effects, and follow-up measures; translates complex medical terminology.
• Teaches about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes; prepares patients for self-management.
• Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, and deliver a holistic patient treatment plan to support recovery.
