Job summary

Advocate Health's Barrington ICU unit is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide critical care in a 18-bed unit. The RN will work 7pm to 7am, full-time, with 36 hours per week and an on-site role.

ACLS required; active RN license; BSN preferred. Intensive care staffing is supported by intensivists on site 24/7 and a comprehensive benefits package includes medical, dental, vision and PTO plus tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• RN license active in applicable state(s) where services are provided.
• BSN degree from an accredited program.
• ACLS certification required.
• 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Uses nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions and updates care plans with the team.
• Maintains accuracy of EHR documentation and records.
• Administers medications and therapies per protocols.
• Maintains a culture of safety and effective communication.
