Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in New Jersey is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver evidence-based nursing care and coordinate closely with the health care team to ensure safe, personalized patient outcomes.

You will administer medications, document care in real time, educate patients and families, and participate in safe discharge planning, with a focus on teamwork and ongoing learning in a dynamic hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.
• Must have six (6) or more months of nursing experience OR must be an active participant with Hackensack Meridian Health’s Nurse Residency Program.
• Telemetry certification is a plus.
• ACLS certification is preferred.
• National certification is a plus.
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus are all required.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to evidence-based research and standards of care to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
• Ongoing communication with patients and healthcare team regarding patient status and treatment plans.
• Medication administration with bar-scanning and documentation technologies.
• Point-of-care electronic documentation of patient assessments and plans of care.
• Patient and family-centered education to optimize health and disease management.
• Multidisciplinary discharging of patients for safe transition of care.
