Job summary

Baptist Health Walker Hospital is seeking an ICU RN for full-time night shifts, working three 12s, to provide advanced nursing care in a high-acuity unit. The role requires strong clinical judgment and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include monitoring equipment, developing care plans, and collaborating with physicians and staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes and adherence to standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Maintains current Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate license.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• At least 1 year of RN experience in an acute care setting.

• Provides advanced nursing care for critically ill patients requiring complex assessments, high-intensity interventions, and continuous monitoring.
• Uses clinical judgment to anticipate, prioritize, and respond quickly to changing patient conditions.
• Operates, monitors, and adjusts specialized medical equipment and interprets data from monitoring systems.
• Responds to emergencies using established nursing standards, protocols, and life-saving interventions.
• Assesses patient needs, develops and revises individualized care plans, and evaluates patient outcomes.
• Advocates for patients and families while ensuring age-appropriate care across the lifespan.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams and may serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or educator.
• Documents care accurately, delegates tasks appropriately, and ensures compliance with evidence-based practice and regulatory standards.

Licensure/Certification

Experience

• At least 1 year of RN experience in an acute care setting
