Job summary

St. Joseph Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the ICU to deliver safe, high-quality care within the nursing process.

You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, while guiding patient and family teaching and collaborating with physicians on hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostics. This is a full-time, day-shift position focused on compassionate, confidential care.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
