Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Respiratory Care professional to operate in intensive care units and critical care settings, following physician orders and department policy. The role involves independent work, consultation with physicians, and providing patient care across all ages in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include initiating and managing ventilation, airway management, blood gas analysis, documentation, and education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Education - Associate degree. Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program by an accredited school.
• Experience - No experience defined.
• In lieu of education and experience noted above, diploma and/or equivalent experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapy general and critical care procedures in accordance with physician’s order, policy, and guidelines.
• Initiates, monitors and manages patients requiring invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Obtains blood gasses, analyzes and reports results.
• Documents and charges for respiratory care procedures; provides patient and family education.
