Job summary

The ideal candidate holds an AMA-approved RT program, an active Illinois RCP license, NBRC credentials (RRT/CRT), and BLS, with NRP/ACLS/PALS to be completed within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapist program.
• Current Illinois Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
• NBRC-credentialed as RRT or CRT.
• BLS required; NRP/ACLS/PALS within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess respiratory status and perform comprehensive patient assessments.
• Administer therapies (oxygen, aerosolized treatments, ventilation) and adjust devices as needed.
• Conduct ABG and PFT tests to guide treatment decisions.
• Provide emergency respiratory care and assist with airway management.
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and disease management.
• Document assessments, treatments, and outcomes in the EHR; ensure equipment is maintained.
