Job summary

MUSC Health Black River Medical Center is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join a collaborative critical care team. You will administer respiratory therapies, monitor patient responses, and work closely with physicians and nurses to ensure optimal outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Approved Respiratory Therapy Program with a Diploma or AAS Degree.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Therapist.
• Current BLS/ACLS/PALS certification.
• Licensed by the Board of Medicine to practice in the state of South Carolina.
• Previous acute care or critical care experience preferred; motivated new graduates welcome.

Responsibilities

• Administer pharmacological, diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care as prescribed.
• Assess, monitor and document patient responses to therapy.
• Collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to deliver effective care.
• Perform advanced procedures and therapies listed in the role (e.g., intubations, arterial line placement, bronchoscopy).
• Provide bedside respiratory care and ensure timely implementation of orders.
