Job summary

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at St. Catherine Hospital is a dedicated eight-bed unit in Garden City, Kansas. We provide care for sepsis, COPD, pneumonia, and more with telemetry and central lines.

Qualifications

• ADN required; diploma or endorsement acceptable.
• Active RN license in the state of employment.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association).
• NIHSS certification.
• At least 1 year of RN ED experience.
• TNCC or TCAR within 1 year of hire.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, with lighter frequent lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs across physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual domains.
• Develop and implement patient care plans with interdisciplinary team.
• Perform IVs, wound care, meds administration, catheterization, specimen collection.
• Document status and outcomes accurately; use IT for communication and decision support.
• Educate patient and family; advocate for health rights and safety.
• Teach and assess effectiveness of teaching to patient/family.
