Job summary

Prime Healthcare St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU/Critical Care unit. This full-time night shift runs 5p-5a with rotating weekends and holidays and includes self-scheduling.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certification on hire and maintained.
• Completion of Critical Care course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required/maintained.
• Minimum of one year as staff RN in acute/critical care.
• CCRN certification preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within scope of practice in the ICU.
• Guide patient/family teaching and supervise other nursing staff.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians clearly.
• Respond quickly to changes in condition or treatment response.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
