Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking an experienced RN for the Community RN Career Direct Care Pathway. The role provides direct patient care per physician orders, with emphasis on assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care within the scope of practice; supports professional growth and discharge planning.

Requirements include Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS, with department-specific certifications as needed. Night shifts and weekend/holiday coverage are required.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
• Department-specific certifications may be required depending on the unit.
• Experience varies by level I–IV.

Responsibilities

• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Evaluates and integrates evidence-based practice into care.
• Performs accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops, implements and evaluates the patient care plan.
• Uses nursing judgment to tailor the plan to patient needs.
• Manages patient assignment and delegates as appropriate.
• Educates patients and families using Dept standards.
• Supports patient/family rights and informed decisions.
• Develops discharge plans and coordinates referrals.
• Prepares and mentors new staff and precepts others.
• Engages in professional development and departmental committees.
