Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a Community RN for the Direct Care Pathway at the Main Campus ICU-1. The role begins at Level I (0–12 months) and progresses to Level IV (8+ years). Night hours are 7:00 PM–7:00 AM, with evenings, weekends, and holidays required.

Massachusetts RN licensure and BLS are mandatory; BSN preferred for advancement. The nurse independently delivers direct patient care per physician orders, guides care plans, and participates in performance improvement.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts RN Licensure is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Department-specific certifications may be required depending on patient care area.
• Experience level varies by RN level I–IV.

Responsibilities

• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
• Integrates evidence-based practice into clinical care.
• Conducts and documents accurate clinical assessments.
• Develops and evaluates the patient’s individualized plan of care.
• Uses nursing judgment to tailor the plan of care.
• Manages patient assignments and team member skill utilization.
• Develops educational plans for patients and families.
• Supports patient/family rights and informed decisions.
• Revises care plans as health status changes.
• Assists with discharge planning and referrals.
• Precepts and mentors new staff.
• Engages in professional development and departmental committees.
