Job summary

Los Alamos Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Registered Nurse for the ICU. Join a highly collaborative team dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered care for critically ill adults. The RNICU will apply evidence-based nursing care and coordinate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team.

Requirements include NM or compact RN license, ADN (BSN preferred), BLS; ACLS/PALS within 30 days. Schedule is nights 3x12 with rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• Current NM or Compact State RN license
• ADN from an accredited nursing program
• BSN preferred; ADN required
• BLS certification; ACLS and PALS within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to critically ill patients using the nursing process and evidence-based practices
• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and identifies changes in patient condition
• Administers medications, treatments, and life-support interventions as prescribed
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient status to physicians and the care team
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, transfers, and discharge planning
• Educates patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery expectations
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients and families
