Medical City Plano is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical Surgical ICU. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers and care teams to support excellent outcomes and a superior patient experience.

The role emphasizes advocacy, adherence to nursing models, and active participation in hospital initiatives to elevate clinical outcomes. Strong communication and critical thinking are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN licensure as Registered Nurse.
• Associate Degree required for the role.
• 1 year of experience required.
• 1 year ICU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents care in the patient medical record in a timely, thorough manner.
• Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about the medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow-up measures; translates complex medical terminology for understanding.
• Educates patients and families about non-medicinal follow-up measures such as diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes; prepares for future self-management.
• Manages evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement initiatives to meet quality measures and enhance patient care.
• Coordinates and delivers a holistic patient treatment plan in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
