Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an RN with ICU/intermediate experience for an open ICU unit. The unit has 12 beds with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio and an interdisciplinary team approach to care.

The role involves performing admissions, planning and implementing patient care, and ensuring safety. Equipment used includes ventilators, IV pumps, monitors and more; dedicated to high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have RN experience >1 year, ICU or Intermediate care preferred.
• Unit uses ventilators, IV pumps, SCD machines, bedside monitors and cardiac monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Performs all responsibilities and duties required by unit as specific to the scope of service.
• Maintains up-to-date documentation of nursing care for the healthcare team.
• Completes initial assessment on patient admission and develops plan of care in accordance with unit standards.
• Implements plan of care and nursing interventions; modifies plan based on evaluation.
• Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting hazards and incidents.
• Communicates with others to resolve issues; provides feedback for professional development.
• Works with ventilated patients for early mobility; collaborates with team for best outcomes.
