Job summary

Prime Healthcare Illinois Medical Group is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant with strong ICU procedural experience to provide inpatient and procedural care at Holy Family Medical Center in Des Plaines, IL. This full-time role supports hospitalist, surgical, critical care, and emergency medicine teams across LTACH and acute care settings.

The ideal candidate holds an accredited PA program degree, Illinois PA license, NCCPA certification, and at least 2 years of procedural experience,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current Illinois PA license and NCCPA certification.
• Minimum 2+ years of procedural experience as a PA (hospitalist, surgery, critical care, or emergency medicine preferred).
• Proficiency in common inpatient procedures and comfort managing complex, chronically ill patients.
• BLS/ACLS certification required; procedural privileging will be supported.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical exams for complex medical and post-acute patients.
• Perform and assist with procedures (e.g., central lines, thoracentesis, paracentesis, wound debridement, suturing, lumbar punctures, and other invasive/minor surgical interventions).
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests; develop and implement treatment plans.
• Provide daily rounding, manage acute changes in condition, and coordinate multidisciplinary care.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery, and preventive care.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
