Job summary

UPMC Altoona is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to support the Acute Care ICU. The role requires at least two years of patient care experience or a PCT certification, with a strong focus on safety, communication, and quality care.

The technician will assist with ADLs, vital signs, and nursing tasks under supervision. The position is full-time, dayshift with rotation and every other weekend/holiday rotation, and requires completion of UPMC Altoona PCT II training or equivalent clinical

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have at least 2 years of patient care experience or a PCT certification from an accredited program.
• CPR/BLS certification per policy.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine patient care under the supervision of nursing staff.
• Supports department projects and quality initiatives.
• Performs nursing assistant responsibilities such as vitals, daily living activities, and specimens as trained.
• Maintains safety and confidentiality and documents in the medical record as required.
• Communicates effectively with the health care team and patients' families.
