Job summary

UPMC Chautauqua seeks a part-time Patient Care Technician to join our ICU/Step Down Unit. The role involves ADLs, telemetry, and assisting with patient care under RN supervision. Shifts include daylight, evening, and overnight with every other weekend and rotating holidays.

The ideal candidate has healthcare experience and completes required UPMC PCT training. Commitment to patient wellbeing and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year healthcare experience or CNA with PCT competency.
• Successful completion of UPMC PCT class.
• Basic information system training.
• EMT/Paramedic preferred.
• Access to medications limited to nurse distribution.

Responsibilities

• Performs ADLs and nursing assistant responsibilities as part of patient care.
• Assists with patient procedures, vital signs, telemetry monitoring, and safety procedures.
• Maintains communication with health care team and documents in medical records.
• Participates in unit activities, rounds, and supports quality initiatives.
• Provides patient and family instruction under RN supervision.
