Job summary

The primary function of the Patient Care Technician (PCT) is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete within the Intensive Care unit at Baptist Health.

The PCT works as an essential part of the patient care team, spending most of their time with patients and demonstrating compassion, caring, and strong communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Qualifications

• 12 college level credit hours that include a passing grade in English Composition with a C or higher and an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater.
• Healthcare Experience Preferred But Not Required.
• This job will be authorized 0.01 hours bi-weekly.

Responsibilities

• Assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and help ensure care is complete.
• Spend most of the time in the presence of the patient, showing compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills, with clear communication to and from the patient, family, and the rest of the healthcare team.
