Job summary

Advocate Health's St Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee is seeking a Nursing Professional Development Generalist - Registered Nurse to support orientation, competency assessment, and ongoing education for Neuro/Neurosurgical ICU staff. This full-time role (36 hours per week) offers opportunities to apply adult-learning principles and collaborate with system-level education teams.

Requires a Bachelor’s in Nursing and at least 3 years of frontline ICU nursing experience; preceptor and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Typically requires 3 years of frontline nursing experience, ICU preferred.
• Preceptor experience and leadership in education are valued.

Responsibilities

• Supports orientation by developing and evaluating programs for nursing staff.
• Assists with competency management and uses data to track performance.
• Designs educational activities addressing practice gaps with NPD input.
• Implements adult learning principles to improve learner outcomes.
• Collaborates with leadership to meet site education needs.
• Assesses learner readiness, language, and cultural needs in teaching.
