Job summary

The ICU Senior Nurse Manager at Boston Medical Center (BMC) provides strategic and operational leadership for a 38-bed, two-unit multidisciplinary ICU, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care and achievement of departmental goals.

Reporting to the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, this role has 24-hour accountability for the units, guides staffing, budgeting, and regulatory readiness, and partners with interdisciplinary teams to drive improvements and positive patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing with 6+ years RN experience and 3+ years nurse management in an inpatient setting.
• Current license to practice Nursing in Massachusetts and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily unit operations to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.
• Leads workforce management, recruitment, onboarding, and staff development.
• Leads quality, safety, and regulatory readiness initiatives.
• Implements strategic staffing and budget planning.
• Fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and coordinates with physicians and care teams.
